The trust needed to:

  • protect business continuity of critical clinical and patient administrative functions
  • procure replacement solutions that were affordable
  • support the strategic goal of inter2operability between acute and community services
  • integrate effectively with other trust solutions (in particular, Evolve)
  • provide a platform that would grow, develop and be flexible

Nautilus led the programme from start to finish:

  • Engaging the trust board and project team at Bucks to identify options, define the strategy, develop the plan and drive key decisions
  • Project management of highly parallel procurement and call off processes, ensuring no time was wasted (e.g. requirements definition in parallel with awaiting PQQ responses)
  • Accelerating requirements definition by re+using pre+existing documentation; facilitating requirements review sessions with subject matter experts; and ensuring consistency and clarity across all areas
  • Accelerating contract definition by re+using existing documentation and relationships with legal advisers
  • Leveraging strong relationships with the supplier community to encourage good quality, competitive bids
  • Leading final contract negotiations on behalf of the trust with the selected suppliers; and
  • Ensuring expedited approval by the NHS TDA of the Trust’s Outline and Full Business Cases by re+ using templates and material known to have been previously approved.
